After watching The Adjustment Bureau one does tend to wonder if there are actually good movies around, notice i said good and not great, I am willing to settle for good. I mean is it too much to ask for a coherent plot and underrated performances?
I am not saying that Limitless is great, it definitely is not, but it is a good movie with a plausible story, and that for now will do me just fine.
Limitless tells the story of Eddie Morra played by Bradley cooper, who is a down on his luck writer who's like if on a one way track to nowhere. His girlfriend dumps him, his publisher is about to do the same if he does not finish his book.
In walks in his ex brother in law, who takes him out for a drink, and feeling sorry for him offers him a pill. This pill allows the person to access the whole brain not just the 20% the rest of us mortals use.
Hesitant at first Bradley decides not to pop the pill...but where would this movie go if he never took it?
So he finally gives in, and is amazed at what he can accomplish with it, the pill allows access to every single passing memory, every learned action...and soon he is hooked, His life is going great, he makes millions in the stock market becomes a financial advisor to a huge company, gets his old girlfriend back......everything is going great...
The down side, the pills are limited, he becomes hooked, no pills = eventual zombie resemblance and death..
how he solves the issue of getting more pills and trying to runaway from people who are trying to get hold of his pills makes up the rest of the story...
fun movie....i would recommend it but just wait till its out on dvd
2.5/4
